Wednesday: Tokyo, Japan

tokyo skyline at dusk

The United Airline flight from Chicago touched down at Narita Internationl Airport in Tokyo about an hour early than scheduled. It was a good ten minute walk from the arrival gate to the airport customs and immigration counter.  It was very fast going through customs, but Misterpiggy got his bags searched upon exit. Wonder if they were looking for unauthorized pork products?

In the airport's arrival hall, Misterpiggy easily discovered the Japan Tourist Info kiosk and helped himself to a multitude of maps and publications.  Narita International airport is about 90 minutes away from Tokyo, so Misterpiggy needed to get into the city. The easiest way is via the Airport Limousine Bus service which drops off at various hotels throughout Tokyo.  You can buy the ticket from the airport and board the bus outside the Terminal.  Here's a picture of the ticket which cost 3000 yen.  It was a chilly twenty minute wait outside for the bus which would take him directly to the Keio Plaza hotel, his home for the next four nights.  Hope you like the picture that Misterpiggy took of the vast Tokyo skyline from the airport bus.
