Friday: Tsukiji Fish Market

tsukiji fish market
Misterpiggy visited the Tsukiji fish market today, but didn't make it down early enough to watch all the buying and selling going on. There was a big crowd in one of the alleyways and everyone was lining up at one of the sushi restaurants.  Misterpiggy decided to join the crowd and he waited in line for almost 40 mins in the cold, only to be hustled into what was no more than a cramped hallway with a sushi counter with the max occupancy of 8 people!

There wasn't much choice in terms of individual sushi so Misterpiggy ordered the set 3500Y sushi combo, which consisted of a few assorted pieces of nigiri sushi, 6 pieces of assorted tekka maki and a miso soup. He had sea urchin, tuna, tuna belly, yellowtail, crystal shrimp, roasted shrimp head, unagi(eel), and tamago(egg). As soon as the meal ended, Misterpiggy was hustled out so that the next patron could take his turn at the counter.  As you can see from the picture they did not even give you plates!  This was a really bad experience for Misterpiggy and he would not go there again!  The sushi place is called sushi dai.
